Leslie is a life, leadership and mindset coach, teaching journalists how to stay mentally fit in incredibly high-stress and traumatic news careers.
Her work has helped those in the journalism field learn stress resourcing tools, how to overcome imposter syndrome, how to show up as leaders and how to reach personal goals. Through partnering with action-oriented thought leaders in journalism spaces, Leslie creates spaces to normalize conversations about journalist mental wellness. She provides inclusive and trauma-sensitive 1-1 coaching, workshops and mental wellness trainings for journalists and communication professionals. She uses mindset tools, yoga, breath work and energetic techniques to help rethink emotions and subconscious thoughts to help bolster mental wellness culture unmatched in newsrooms across the world.
In addition to speaking at workshops and conferences, Leslie has a grassroots online community of thousands of journalists reimagining journalist mental wellness. Leslie works at the intersection of mental wellness, social justice, newsroom diversity and creating inclusive spaces through understanding that rest and mental wellness is resistance to burnout culture in news. Leslie focuses on being HUMAN first, journalist second.

Leslie is a featured panelist for the University of Texas at Austin Journalism School. She shares her expertise as a journalist and yoga educator in the challenges and importance of putting mental wellness first in news careers and why it's important to normalize mental wellness in the industry.
WINTER 2021
The News Yogi featured Speaker at Peace Studio Summit
Leslie shares her expertise in yoga, self-regulation and meditation tools with hundreds of journalists to discuss how yoga has allowed for reflection and inner stability needed to perform her job as a journalist. The Peace Studio is a nonprofit co-founded by President Obama’s sister, the author and educator, Maya Soetoro.

The News Yogi B2B: Burnout to Breakthrough Journalist Course Launches
Leslie launches her signature 8-week yoga, meditation and self-regulation course for journalists. She uses her expertise in meditation, yoga psychology and breathing practices to guide journalists through an 8 week program to help better understand how burnout happens and tools to help manage mental wellness.

Leslie is booked to teach hundreds of journalists yoga, meditation, stress and self-regulation tools for online conferences including IRE, ONA, The Carter Center, and NICAR. Leslie continues to present day guest-speaking for various journalism organizations.

Online Streaming Yoga for Journalists Studio Launches
Leslie launches an online streaming yoga studio tailored specifically for journalists. She teaches weekly yoga and meditation classes in addition to on-demand streaming classes.
MAY 2020
The News Yogi | Yoga for Journalists Launches
At the height of the pandemic, Leslie was asked to lead a meditation for a group of journalists led by CBS News Correspondent and Talent Coach Debra Alfarone. Immediately following, The News Yogi was launched as demand for yoga wellness tools sparked and the movement for journalists was born.
